  Check out PlantUML (http://plantuml.sourceforge.net/). It's Java-based and uses the same sequence diagram language used here.

  The best thing about this web app is that it's scriptable. A desktop version would benefit from this immensely as well -- a simple command-line interface would be best.

  yes a desktop version would really be great.
  Reason:
  My clients may not like submitting on the web (even if the website claims it is not stored on the server)...I still breach the “Information confidentiality agreement”
